Cheryl ...
One of my first memories of a quilt was my grandma’s crazy quilt made out of wool and velvet. I remember the weight of the quilt as it draped across my lap and the security I felt as I was wrapped in it to go to sleep.
About the age of 5, I would sit by my mom as she would sew my sisters clothes for school and embroider pillow cases. Longing to not only wear the clothes she had designed and sewn, but design and sew my own. I soon learned to sew troll doll clothes and furnishings for my doll house. Usually twice a year catalogs arrived, I would cut out pictures, paste them on a piece of paper and construct rooms with my cutout finds. I’d place my newly decorated page into my binder and save it until the next catalog arrived. Since my mom had taught me how to sew clothes, I figured how hard would it be to sew curtains, bedspreads, or tablecloths.
After realizing my passion for sewing clothes & household furnishings I made a choice to go to FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising) in San Francisco. The cost became prohibitive to attending, so I continued learning on my own.
I got married shortly after and we had 2 handsome sons & adopted 1 beautiful daughter. After the death of my mom, I purchased my first new sewing machine. I began sewing clothes for my children & items for our home. Forty years later Ed & I have retired and moved to the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I now have time to not only teach my grandchildren to sew quilts & cross stitch, but friends as well. My love for everything fiber arts continues to grow to this day, as well as my passion to pass this art onto the next generation!

One of Ed's first memories, is seeing his dad clear trees off a plot of land. This cleared property later became a freeway in Oakland, California. Ed's dad and mom, Myron & Marcella moved to the Bay Area of California in 1949 and pioneered a tree service, Elite Tree Service. Ed purchased the business from his dad in 1978, shortly before marrying me (Cheryl). When Ed retired in 2010 his son and his wife, Matt & Sarah, took over the business and it still runs today. 76 years of family business and Ed still shows his creative talents in both tree and wood working.

He is meticulous in his work and loves to see a piece of raw wood turn into something beautiful!

Okay, okay his third love (His family first, wood working second) is fishing. On any given day, rain or shine, you'll find Ed out on the water with a pole in his hand. So, if you're in the area and want to fish get a hold of us!
